Our jewelry is made for everyday wear: stainless steel in silver or with 18K gold plating, plus pieces made from 925 sterling silver. Each material has its own needs – with a few simple habits, its shine will last for years.
The five most important rules

Put on last, take off first
Cream, perfume, hairspray and make-up first – jewelry comes after. In the evening, it's the first thing you take off.

Avoid chlorine, salt water and sauna
Brief contact with water won't harm your jewelry. Chlorine water, sea water and prolonged heat attack every surface – take it off beforehand.

Wipe briefly after wearing
A soft, dry cloth removes skin oils, sweat and cosmetic residue. This is the most effective care of all – and takes ten seconds.

Store dry and individually
Preferably in the supplied jewelry pouch or TIZORI box, not in the bathroom. Stored individually, pieces won't rub against each other.

Take off during sports, showering and sleeping
Friction, sweat and soap residue are the most common causes of dull surfaces. Taking it off briefly significantly extends its lifespan.
Care by Material
18K Gold Plating on Stainless Steel
The stainless steel core does not rust and does not bend. The 18K gold layer is applied using the PVD process – it is firmly bonded and significantly more abrasion-resistant than classic electroplating.
Nevertheless, it is and remains a surface: it lasts a long time if you avoid friction and aggressive agents.

Do not polish. Silver polishing cloths, polishing pastes and ultrasonic devices remove the gold layer. A soft cotton or microfiber cloth is sufficient.
Stainless Steel in Silver
Our silver-colored pieces are solid 316L stainless steel without coating – the color is in the material itself and therefore cannot chip off. This makes them the most robust jewelry pieces in the assortment.
Stainless steel does not tarnish like sterling silver, does not rust, and tolerates water without problems. A soft cloth after wearing is enough to maintain its shine.

No silver polish needed. Stainless steel does not oxidize, so you don't need silver dip or tarnish protection – both would only attack pearls or stones in combined pieces. For fine scratches, a soft microfiber cloth helps.
925 Sterling Silver
Sterling silver consists of 92.5% fine silver. It is more noble and softer than stainless steel – and as the only one of our materials, it tarnishes over time. This dark patina is not a defect, but a natural reaction of silver with sulfur compounds in the air.
The best way to prevent this is to wear it: contact with the skin keeps the surface bright. If a piece does get darker, a silver polishing cloth will restore its shine in a few strokes.

Only here the exception applies: A silver polishing cloth is exclusively for uncoated 925 sterling silver. For gold-plated pieces, it will remove the gold layer, and pearls or stones must never come into contact with it. It is best to store silver in a sealed bag – the less air, the slower it tarnishes.
Freshwater Pearls
Pearls are a grown material and therefore the most delicate element of our assortment. Their surface is porous and reacts to acids, alcohol and perfume.
It is best to wear them regularly – natural skin contact keeps them supple. Wipe them with a soft, slightly damp cloth after wearing and let them dry before putting them away.

No cleaning agents. Pearls do not tolerate dish soap, ultrasound or steam. Store them in an airy place and not permanently in a closed plastic bag – they need some moisture from the ambient air.
Zirconia
Zirconia is hard, colorfast and easy to care for. What dulls its sparkle is not the material itself, but the fine film of skin oils, cream and dust that collects behind the stones.
A soft cloth after wearing is usually sufficient. For dull sparkle, lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap and a very soft brush helps.

Be careful around the setting. The stones themselves are robust – the gold-plated setting underneath is less so. Therefore, always clean gently and without pressure.
Clean in three steps
Once a month is enough for most pieces. Please only wipe pearls dry to slightly damp.
Lukewarm Water
A bowl of lukewarm water with a drop of mild, pH-neutral soap. No hot water, no dishwasher.
Gently Dab
Briefly immerse the jewelry and dab with a very soft brush or your fingers. Do not scrub or rub.
Pat Dry
Rinse with clear water and pat dry with a soft cloth. Let it dry completely before putting it away.

Storage
Store your jewelry in a cool, dry place away from light – the bathroom is the least suitable place in the house, as there is constantly moisture and cleaning fumes in the air.
Store pieces individually so that hard stones do not scratch softer surfaces. It is best to fasten necklaces and lay them flat to prevent tangling. If you are not wearing a piece of jewelry for a longer period, wipe it clean beforehand: skin oils that remain on the surface for months will leave marks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the jewelry really waterproof?
Yes, for everyday use: hand washing, rain and a brief dip in the water are not a problem. However, prolonged contact with chlorinated or salt water, as well as heat in saunas and steam baths, will damage any gold-plated surface – it is better to remove the jewelry beforehand.
Can I shower with it?
Occasionally, it won't hurt. In the long run, however, shower gel, shampoo, and soap residues will dull the shine. We recommend taking off your jewelry beforehand.
Does the jewelry tarnish or discolor?
That depends on the material. Stainless steel – silver-colored as well as gold-plated – does not tarnish and does not rust. For gold-plated pieces, the gold layer can become duller over time due to sweat, perfume or cleaning agents.
925 sterling silver, on the other hand, naturally tarnishes and becomes darker. This is normal and can always be reversed with a silver polishing cloth.
Is the jewelry suitable for sensitive skin?
Our jewelry is nickel-free and therefore also suitable for sensitive skin. If you are known to react to certain metals, please contact us briefly beforehand – we will tell you exactly what each piece is made of.
Can I use a silver polishing cloth?
Only for uncoated 925 sterling silver. Not for gold-plated pieces: silver polishing cloths and polishing pastes are slightly abrasive and remove the gold layer. For these – and for pearls or stones – use only a soft, untreated cloth.
A piece has become dull – what can I do?
First, clean it as described above; in most cases, it's just a film of skin oil and cosmetics. If it remains dull, please contact us with a photo at hello@tizori.chhello@tizori.de – we'll take a look.
Does the warranty also apply to damage caused by improper care?
Our 2-year warranty applies to material and manufacturing defects. Normal wear and tear and damage caused by chemicals, chlorine or mechanical polishing are not covered.
